I spend a lot of time joking around, goofing off, and doing things just for funsies, but sometimes the most hilarious moments take place in real life. For example; have you folks heard of the woke staffers at Spotify who think it’s their right and responsibility to censor Joe Rogan?
When Joe’s podcast first landed on the platform there were a number of episodes that were conspicuously absent, including one with Abigail Shrier who has committed the sin of questioning whether it’s a good idea to let children make the decision to undergo sex change operations. The Shrier interview is among the many incredibly silly reasons that Rogan has been branded a transphobe. In fact the woke hot take that Rogan is transphobic has spread so far that even Men’s Health is joining the dogpile (not that it really matters, the only reason anyone ever read Men’s Health was because they were taking a shit at the airport. I have to think smartphones will soon make the publication a thing of the past).
Anyway, the wokenistas at Spotify are so full of themselves that they demanded management hold a series of meetings to address the issue:
Spotify employees were demanding direct editorial oversight over the recently-acquired Joe Rogan Experience podcast. That would include the ability to directly edit or remove sections of upcoming interviews, or block the uploading of episodes deemed problematic. The employees also demanded the ability to add trigger warnings, corrections, and references to fact-checked articles on topics discussed by Rogan in the course of his multi-hour discussions.
This is what happens when you let social justice insanity run amok on college campuses. Eventually the arrogant little brats graduate, enter the work force, and operate under the delusion that they have the right to tell people what to say, what to listen to, and what to think. Fortunately in this case, the social Marxists have chosen to work for a multi-billion dollar corporation which recently signed a $100 million deal with the biggest podcaster on the planet, so the woke crusade will have to march its army elsewhere.
This is just the latest salvo in a series of attacks against Rogan. The reason the wokenistas hate him are myriad, but fail to stand up to scrutiny. He has opinions on trans women in sports that while delivered in a compassionate and vitriol-free manner, they just don’t like. He makes Caitlin Jenner jokes. He has staunch conservatives on his show and this group that believes it can regulate opinions doesn’t like that he ‘gives those people a space to spread hate speech’ or whatever the fuck they say when they hear a viewpoint that opposes their own. Of course what they hate the most is that he’s very popular among straight white dudes who they give the blanket title ‘bros’, because remember it is very much okay to direct your anger towards straight white dudes. We’re to blame for everything – seriously you could probably point to the Rwandan genocide or honor killings in the Middle East and one of these jackasses would give you an explanation as to how that’s Rogan’s fault or my fault or your fault.

So at this point it seems, Spotify realizes that Rogan’s listeners would never stand for such fuckery and that allowing staffers to edit his episodes would probably void his contract anyway, allowing him to go back to podcasting on his own which was still netting him shitloads of cash. That’s what makes this such a perfect situation. Spotify needs Joe Rogan more than Joe Rogan needs Spotify. Joe Rogan doesn’t need Spotify. Joe Rogan is bigger than Spotify. So if you’re Spotify and you have a team of staffers who are according to some reports making 6 figures a year, and they threaten to strike over Joe Rogan, the biggest podcaster on the planet, it’s obvious whose side you take. There are a lot of people out of work right now, a lot of people who would happily work at Spotify for less than 6 figures while leaving Joe’s podcast alone.
This creates for us the perfect ‘fuck you, shut the fuck up’ moment. Spotify and Joe get to tell the woke mafia to suck their dicks. In the spirit of that fellatio allow me to make my my larger point; most people do not agree with woke assholes. People toe the line because they’re afraid of what the wokies will do. But the wokies are really a bunch of pussies, so if the rest of society tells the wokies to sit down and shut the fuck up, every time they launch some ridiculous campaign to silence someone, we will eventually beat down the woke mob.
So please join me in replacing ‘cancel culture’ with ‘shut the fuck up culture’, no matter who it is, if they try to cancel someone who doesn’t deserve it, then we will all in unison tell them to shut the fuck up.
