Ayo Dosunmu and I Aren't That Different.

Who has the cooler mask?

Just two kids from the South Side of Chicago who made their way down to Champaign for their college experience roughly three and half years ago. One was deemed the savior before even stepping foot on campus, the other came in with the expectation of leaving with a slight drinking problem. To this point- both appear to be true.

The two of us have undying support from our peers.

Yeah Ayo's peer may be an NBA NVP Candidate who's made $176 million in his career and completely revived the Chicago Bulls and my peers voted me Intramural Sports Supervisor of the Semester, but support is support. Ayo's getting the same type of support from a highly respected NBA Vet in Year 1 and I received my honor in my first semester as a Supervisor. Built different is one way to describe it.

Obviously Ayo and I have next to nothing in common other tan growing up in the same city and attending the same University. I'm really unable to put into words what Ayo has meant to my college experience, but he sure as hell made it more entertaining than it should have been (especially during his All-American 2021 Campaign). Prior to Ayo committing to the University of Illinois they hadn't made the tournament since 2012 and had an average winning percentage of .5065 in the four years Ayo was in high school. After a shaky freshman year that saw him average 13.8 ppg, while making the All-B1G Freshman team, he ended up leading to Illini to two NCAA Tourney berths (yeah I'm counting 2020, deal with it).

Thank You for everything, Ayo
